Canyons Village is transforming into a year-round luxury resort hub. Led by the Canyons Village Master Association (CVMA) and Park City Mountain (Vail Resorts), this ongoing development focuses on expanding lift capacity, streamlining transportation, and adding premium residential spaces.
1. Major Lift & Access Upgrades
- The New Canyons Village Skyway: The resort is replacing the open-air Cabriolet lift with an enclosed 10-person gondola. Spanning roughly 2,700 feet, the Skyway will run 11+ hours daily to link the lower transit hub directly to the main village forum. Furthermore, a new mid-station allows nearby homeowners to board directly without walking or shuttling in ski boots.
- Sunrise Gondola Expansion: A high-capacity 10-person gondola has replaced the old two-person Sunrise chairlift. As a result, uphill capacity from the Canyons base has nearly doubled. This helps disperse morning crowds and speeds up access to Red Pine Lodge.
2. Infrastructure & Parking Solutions
- Multi-Level Parking Structure: A new 1,840-stall parking structure replaces former surface lots at the Lower Village. In addition, the facility features EV charging stations, sustainable wood cladding, and a Welcome Plaza that streamlines the walk from your car to the slopes.
- Enhanced Learning Zone: Meanwhile, Red Pine Lodge received major overhauls. Upgrades include regraded learning terrain, a new magic carpet, and a dedicated Ski & Ride School dining space tailored for kids.
3. Luxury Real Estate & Commercial Expansion
- New Residential Offerings: Luxury developments continue to expand the area’s residential bed base. Key highlights include Elevation at the Canyons, a collection of multi-level townhomes, and refreshed properties like Canyon Haus (formerly YOTELPAD).
- Year-Round Lifestyle Amenities: Consequently, Canyons Village is evolving from a winter-only resort into a 365-day community hub. New additions feature an outdoor amphitheater for summer concerts, expanded plazas, and fresh dining options.
Real Estate Takeaway: The CVMA estimates that the master plan is currently only 40% developed. Ultimately, this combination of new luxury inventory, seamless transportation, and year-round amenities will continue to boost rental yields and long-term property values across the Canyons area.
