The $5 billion East Village expansion at Deer Valley is moving rapidly through its multi-year timeline, transforming the Jordanelle side of the resort into a massive, year-round luxury base portal.
On-Mountain & Terrain Expansion
- Terrain Growth: Following the debut of the East Village Express Gondola and 10 new lifts, Deer Valley expanded to 4,500 skiable acres with 209 runs.
- New Lifts for 2026/2027: The resort introduced the HailPeak Express, adding another 200 acres and 7 new runs. This brings the system to 32 total lifts and increases snowmaking coverage across the east side.
- Park Peak Lodge & Skier Services: Core construction on the Park Peak Lodge (at the top of the East Village gondola) and the permanent East Village Lodge (the main skier services facility at the base) reached major milestones in 2026, setting up full operation for upcoming winter seasons.
Village Base & Real Estate Construction
- Grand Hyatt Deer Valley: The village’s commercial anchor is open, providing 381 hotel rooms and 55 sold-out private residences.
- Residential Pipeline: Vertical construction is in full swing across several residential communities. Marcella Landing Townhomes, Cormont Deer Valley, and the flagship Four Seasons Private Residences Deer Valley are all under construction.
- Additional Hotel & Retail: The Hilton Canopy and core retail/dining infrastructure are progressing through phased completions. At full buildout, East Village will feature over 1,700 residential units and 800 hotel rooms alongside 250,000 square feet of commercial space.
Infrastructure & Access
- Direct Highway Access: Managed under the Utah Military Installation Development Authority (MIDA), major road upgrades—including the expanded Jordanelle Parkway—connect U.S. 40 directly to the East Village base. This allows visitors coming from Salt Lake City to access Deer Valley directly without driving through Park City’s historic district or seasonal traffic.
